Cambridge Garden Designer Sylvia Newman, decided the only way to deal with this garden design challenge was to rise above it.
A client who has already had his East Anglian garden re-designed by Sylvia decided his Chelsea crash pad needed a bit of an overhaul inside and out and called her in to advise him on the small back yard.
Just five metres wide by eight metres long the plot faces south but was surrounded by high uneven and bowing brick walls which made it adark and dingy place for much of the day, dominated by ugly concrete steps up from the basement
