The show, presented by Janet Ellis and Chris Beardshaw, was broadcast live from the historic grounds of Blenheim Palace. A prestigious team of design and horticultural experts acted as judges, and decided who proceeded through to the quarter and semi finals to the grand final, where the public had the final vote.

During the show’s 15 week run, over 100 small gardens were built in the walled garden at Blenheim, and the visiting public were able to watch this innovative project unfold.

Hand-picked designers went head-to-head every day as each completed a 25 square metre show garden, which they had three days to build.

Sylvia comments; “My design offers a distinctive and practical solution to those who want to spend their hard-earned time luxuriating in, rather than labouring in, their garden”.

“By integrating contemporary materials and planting we are creating a high-impact, low-maintenance outdoor room that offers a secluded haven for year-round enjoyment.”

The programme’s aim was to find the best garden designers in Britain and the live approach was a ground-breaking genre for gardening television programmes.
