After being cleared, the edges of this natural pond, and the pond itself, were sympathetically replanted to integrate with the surrounding countryside.
British native species were used in this scheme, and species particularly relevant to wildlife found in this part of the country were researched. A small, but nevertheless important contribution to the countryside.
As we all know, garden borders can easily get overgrown when some species turn into thugs and take over all the available space.
Removing the 'thugs', lifting and dividing chosen species and adding new plants which associate well with those already there, is the way forward.
